Responding problem

Hi, im having a problem with my computer. It works fine but when i connect to Internet nothing responds, not even th Ctrl+Alt+Delete command. I have asked a few people and they think the problem is with the hard drive.

So I wonder how I do a computer backup, how I change the hard drive, what hard drive I need to a Vaio model: vgn-fw41e/h and how I re-install my computer?

Thank you for your help!

Hi erikoman,

Before going down the route of replacing the hard drive I suggest that you first rule out other possible causes.

First run a check on the hard drive for errors.

http://windows.microsoft.com/en-GB/windows-vista/Check-your-hard-disk-for-errors

If after that you still have the same issue then try booting in Safe mode with networking (F8 at boot) – check whether the problem still occurs.

If possible download a different browser (eg Firefox) on another computer and install that on your machine – does the problem still occur?

As an additional step, check error logs at Control Panel - Administrative tools - Event Viewer.

And when was the last time this device worked well? https://imagicon.info/cat/12-13/vmware_happy.gif
