Retro fit Blu-Ray ?

Any chance this upgrade would be possible ?

Is it possible to retro fit the Blu-Ray drive from the latest laptop series ?
Is it possible to purchase as a replacement component, from Sony, just the newer Blu-Ray diskdrive, or is the price prohibitive ?

The laptop drives tend to be a standard size with a different tray/door but generally the drive itself is a standard size. Is this the case ?

Blu-Ray Players are coming down in price @ £165: -

Internal BD Writers are still rare and cost over £500. I think I would wait and buy an external USB writer when prices fall a bit - they are still £650:-

Although I have a Blu-Ray BDRE equipped VGN-AR31S and a Panasonic VIERA Plasma, I am yet to be convinced any difference in playback quality is worth the increased cost at today's prices.

You will need a modern Core Duo Processor to process the increased data volume!
