hey i was uninstalling some software from my Vaio FE-11H and i must have removed a .dll file that corresponded to the Shortcut (s-button) buttons above the keyboard on the laptop. Whenever i go to set the shortcut buttons to an application now i get an error saying "Can't Launch". Does anyone happen to know file(s) i would need to copy onto the machine to retrieve this functionality
thanks a lot
thanks for that, but where can i find the sony utilities and event services etc to install them, i've tried the shared app recovery tool and i can't find them
thanks
Just register and download the utils
Hi Speedway16ie and welcome to the forum.
The pre-installed utilities for your model can be downloaded from Vaio-Link.
thanks rich i got them there. Doesnt seem to have fixed the S-Button problem though. I installed the utility #5 is that the correct one for the S-Button event config?
Yes that is the correct one Speedway16ie, but you first need to install Sony Utilities (folder1) and Sony Shared Library Folder 2) followed by Vaio Event services (folder 5), then re-boot. You may possibly need to repeate the procedure a couple of times before the keys will work.
that worked thanks a million, really appreciate it.
No problem Speedway16ie, pleased to hear that:smileyhappy:
