S-Video not working today!?!?!?!

Hi, got my VAIO yesterday (VGN-AR61M)
Whilst I was doing some work last night I connected my TV via the S-Video socket on the side so I could watch a movie whilst I was working. It worked brilliantly.
This morning however I decided to do the same, I plugged the S-Video cable into the side and suddenly everything stopped on the VAIO and my screen went blank!
Even when I start my VAIO with the S-Video cable plugged in it seems to go to a blank screen.

Anyone got any suggestions??

Have you tried toggling the display between TV and VAIO by holding Fn and pressing F7 ?

Ignore me, despite the fact I couldn't get it to work this morning or about an hour ago when I came in from work I've just plugged the S-Video cable into the side of the VAIO and hey presto, it's working.

I think I've realised what's happening (but not why lol)
When I'm playing a dvd or blu-ray and then plug the S-Video in it seems to crash the machine.
If I plug the S-Video in then start the movie it is fine.
Can anyone explain why this is and whether it is normal behavior?
