Scratched lid after only a few weeks Vaio Pro 13

I have had my new Vaio Pro 13 for a few weeks now, and already there are 4-5 scratches on the lid. I'm really disappointed by this and would have expected the materials used to be more robust and resistant to scratches. This is just through normal usage and occassional travel in my backpack and suitcase. Has this happened with anyone else? Note I have the carbon black version. Given the fact that this costs extra I would have expected a lot more. I dread to think what it will look like after a year.

The carbon black version brings nothing more than the touchscreen, it doesnt change any of the outward materials.

I've had the same laptop and i've been to america and back for a 3 week period and mine is totally absent of any scratches, surely you simply need to be more careful? Is it in its own case? Carrying it loose in a backpack is a bad plan if you dont want scratches. It's carbon fibre, not diamond.
