Hi there, my friend has a vgn-sz2xp/c, after playing 'elder scrolls: oblivion' for a while the laptop crashed and had to be re-started. on which we find line of !!!! at the top of the screen, then when we enter the menu e.g. to select 'start windows normally, safe mode' we find that random characters are 'one more' than they should be e.g. an 'a' becomes a 'b' etc
if we select 'start windows normally' it loads the XP loading screen, then goes black and sits there with nothing displayed.
have re-installed from the recovery CD and still no change
any help much appreciated
