I am new to the forum and have posted the same fix on 3 threads toinight so I will post the info in a new thread
Many users of computers are reporting startup problems where the apps seem to not respond for several minutes. Some even report this happens at intervals during the day. This is not a SONY issue but is a windows one.
Its to do with Microsoft update and the automatic update setting. So, before you do anything drastic like a format please try the following
Open control panel and then settings, click on the automatic updates tab and change the settings to turn off automatic updates.
Reboot and see if that fixes the issue
If it does, then either update manually once a week or read this http://support.microsoft.com/kb/916089/en-us and get the fix.
