SMR UTILITY SERVICE 1.3.0 NOT WORKING PROPERLY

I keep getting error message-SMR Utililty Service 1.3.0 not working properly-status stopped/the system cannot find the file specified/device driver unsuccesful install after I try to correct the driver,what shall I do and where can I get the driver?

Any suggestions or solutions would be very appreciated.

What model Vaio do you have?

Do you have. or have you ever had Norton Internet Security installed?  The file SymSMR130.SYS sounds like a Symantec file to me.

Have you run a full AntiVirus and AntiSpyware scan just in case it is a virus?

sony vaio VGN-NWEOEF.  I have avg,super anti spyware and also run norton power eraser and norton security scan just about every day,all free programs.  I normally download and install all drivers that need updating using driver max free.
