Sonic Stage 3.0 Problems

It says I have to initializate my VP.
I go to initializations menu, I do it but it doesn't work.
What can I do?

Yes, I tried everything that I could think about.
I had the last firmware but again I installed it.
in fact I backed up the VP content and then put it again after initializing but i couldn't play atrac files 8no permissions).
Previoulsy, I had gone back to version 2.3 and 2.1 after uninstalling 3.0 but I couldn't access to the VP no more.

As I've commented preiously, this means that if I ever change of computer o format the one that I've got now, I'll have also to format my VP.
That's ridiculous. And that's it. i've been happy with MD for a lot of years, I like the sound of the atrac files but that's it.

no more sony products. This problems mean that they don't care about users at all.

by the way. i'll suggest a seed file, like an ID file with a password or something (ala Lotus Notes), so they still have security, but something that avoids formatting / initializing.
there are so many solutions.

there are better solutions, but the ipod doesn't have one - you still have to format that every time you change pc etc. if you want it to synchronise its library on connection. i tried to gt some photos from my friend's laptop with my ipod nce and it started erasing everything at a time when i didn't have reliable access to a firewire equipped pc... i was not impressed!

I dont care about the protection of the files, but a UPGRADE process instead of a total reformat will be more than nice. Sony has already open the vaio to mp3, A real upgrade to 3.0 (and the support of the vaio transfert program) must be done !

(by the way, can you read the mp3 directly from the vaio now ? With 2.3, I only can read/transfert back the real atrac formats, not mp3)

With 2.3 I couldn't tranfer back to the comnputer the atrac.
now the atrac can be transfered back OK, also if the atrac file doesn't exist in the computer.
Haven't tried the mp3 yet. I'll let you know.

please do let us now about the mp3 transfer it might be a reason enough to upgrade it...although it will take a lot of guts and patience...

Hurray, back to 2.3 and my Vaio is recognize ! I think that the trick is to unistall & delete all the openMG stuffs..

But I want the ability to play & transfert mp3 from vaio 😞

I WANT A WORKING 3.0 !!! 🙂

By the way, someone tried the 3.0 upgrade ? (not the 3.0 full install ?) Same initilization problem ?

I get the feeling SoniStage3.0 is a Beta Software.

1) you can transfer MP3 files with Vaio pocket music transfer program! go and update it and then transfer mp3s!

2) I want a real 3.0 !

3) I upgraded from 2.3 to 3.0 and it insisted on initilization again! thumbs up for SonicStage 3.0! I've never seen an upgrade as trouble making as this in a program! (or maybe I'd seen before, for example winamp 3.xx was terrible! but we have 5.xx now which is unlike Sonicstage, has some features!)

Yes but I want to transfert back from my vaio. Or listen on my pc but in the vaio (ie. at work, using my headphone on the computer instead of directly on the vaio)
I can transfert & play back atrac files but not mp3 😞
