Sonic Stage 3.0 Problems

It says I have to initializate my VP.
I go to initializations menu, I do it but it doesn't work.
What can I do?

Yes but I want to transfert back from my vaio. Or listen on my pc but in the vaio (ie. at work, using my headphone on the computer instead of directly on the vaio)
I can transfert & play back atrac files but not mp3 😞

I can think of a silly way! If you have a lot of free space on your VP, you can transfer your music by VAIO program, and drag & drop them on the removable HDD of VP by Windows explorer, as well!
I know it's silly to have the same music twice on VP, but it's the only way to do this without installing SS 3.0 (thanks to SONY for the great program! <<

I had the same problem with ss 2.3. The problem was that I had downloaded from Sony.com. I bought my VP in England and had to down load the upgrade and firmware from the English web. Try that.

i would really like to know a way to put mp3s on the vp with sstage ,vaio transfer or anything at all and then be able to transfer it back or play it back on the pc;not even the same pc that got the files there is able to do that!!!

i dont understand why sony would do something this stupid,as you can easily copy-paste your music on the hd as normal files and not music recognized by the player and paste it on other pcs too...

it makes no sense at all!!

You are right! It doesn't make sense!
I suppose that VP has a system of encryption! I mean, apart from the files that the user copy-paste by windows explorer, it encrypt anything else!
Because I tried to copy photos, rename its folders, copy my music back to PC, and no success at all! It's so stupid, because if the reason is protecting copy rights, I know many other devices which are easier to use without restrictions!
The only reason I can think of, is that SONY PROGRAM WRITERS are doing these on purpose! and all the trouble is for us, users of these devices and programs!
I wish I was a genius programmer and I would definately rewrite all SONY's programs to make them A BIT USER-FRIENDLY!

maybe we could all use a little of our money and give all the amount to a programmers group,then give them the vp installing cd and tell them to write all the programms again,so that they dont make us furious anymore and regarding to ss make them faster!!!!

as you understand this is not a solution,im just trying to give sony the idea of how desperate the vp users are when using that bloody software*!

Unfortunately, no one in SONY cares about these forums, they just created it to ease their own job (which is customer supporting) so what can I say ?
They don't care until we send them a letter or something with VP users signatures, maybe they read it then!

youre totally right,but that is kinda hard to happen unless we can get all the people in this forum to sign on it,but again,a company does only what is best for her...

why not start a petition (ie. at http://www.petitiononline.com ) and every submitter mail sony support the url ? Maybe a petition with a "I will sell my vaio at ebay and buy a real compatible mp3 player instead if that situation dont change " line ? :smileygrin:

And maybe post the link to other mp3 players forums and add these links to the mail, so sony will see that we spread the bad things about SS 3...
Maybe they dont care about user opinion, but bad publicity... they change their mind about mp3 compatibility with actions like this....
