Sony Vaio VPCYB2M1E/P - Change the screen color from silver to pink

Hello,

I have a Sony Vaio VPCYB2M1E/S, and i want to change the screen color from silver to pink.

There is a store or a spare part shop for Sony Vaio where i can find this kind of thing?

Hello kaenel2002,

the pink and the silver model use the same display bezel (frame) and display lid (back cover), but taking the display apart isn't easy and risks breaking the display itself as well as the cables for the display, webcam and the antennas. VAIO repair centres can order parts and have the required expertise.

You can find the details of repair centres by looking at the out-of-warranty part of the contact section of the support website, and find out what they can do for you.

Make sure to consider the alternative of buying the pink version, moving your data and selling the silver version - it might be cheaper than the logistics, labour and parts cost.

Hi Stephanius,

First of all i want to thank you for your quick answer.

I will take in consideration the second solution, buying a pink model and sell the silver one.I was thinking to this from the first time but when i realized that there are only 2 plastic frames of different color, i thought that if i can find this on a spare part online shop or something similar, i can manage to do the switch operation by myself.

I think also that selling the silver one it is the most time/cost saving alternative, considering that in Romania, the country where i live, there are a few chances that a local repair centre would have on stock bazels for this new model of notebook.
