Hello all

I have a problem fews problems with my laptop. The main problem was that, the DVDRW does not read anymore, everytime I inserted a cd/dvd in the tray it's kept on spinning and repeating like endless. The other problem is the fan, its very noisey when it gets hot. Can someone shed some lights to my laptop. Shall I call the customer service to sort this out.

Is your Vaio still in Warranty? Check which drive you have installed. If it is the Sony DW-D56A it will probably need replacement - it has a poor record. Have a look HERE.

I would contact Vaio-Link as soon as possible.

hello thanks for replying, yes it's still under warranty, I brought it back 24 Sept 05 so it's just still warranty. I have flashed the bios and the DVD drive, the fan and excessive heat seems to cure now. As for the DVDRW/CD it's still like before, spinning endlessly. I'll give the customer service a call on Monday to see if they can help.

Yeah I'd do that ASAP, nearly the end of the warranty period
