SVF15A1M2ES fan speed issues.

Hello, I've owned a Vaio SVF15A1M2ES model for about 2 months now and I seem to have a annoying issue with the fans. The laptop is generally silent but every 2 minutes or so the fans with speed up and be noisy for a while then go back to silent and rinse and repeat. I use speedfan to check the temps and they don't change at all, even if it is getting a little hot it shouldn't be going so loud. Looking at task manager and everything will be on 0% usage except for memory which is around 20%. I am on Windoes 8.1 if that helps.

Any help would be appreciated.

As far as I am aware that is the latest update for my laptop.

There is a version R0230DD but it is not listed for your model.

I'll contact Sony on Monday and try to get some clarification.

Hi!

I had a similar problem with my Sony Vaio Pro 13, model SVP1321M9EB.

The fan turned off and on and was really annoying.

I opened the Vaio Control center. Under section Power and battery a changed the setting for CPU and Fan from Standard to Silence. 

That helped, and I did not notice any change in performance.

I have exactly the same issue with SVF15A1S2ES, Magwett, could you confirm how you located the settings the change the CPU/Fan, I've tried your path but don't get the option [running win8 not 8.1]?

I have looked in the Control Center but there is no options for CPU Fan, Just power options and actions when closing the lid.
