Dear all,
after buying a VAIO FE11M last year and upgrading that laptop to 2GB memory/Core2Duo T7400 processor last month I decided to go for Windows Vista Business 64-Bit yesterday.
Should've thought it over at least 3 times more.
I was happy to find Vista drivers on the Sony support site mentioned in a few threads here , so I thought I was ready to go. Unfortunately these are, mostly, 32-Bit drivers/utilities. Stubborn as I am (as well as broke) I refuse to do it the easy way and spend some more money for a 32-Bit version of Vista Business. My thought: "The damn laptop supports 64-Bit, so should the operating system".
So this is the start of my quest for 64-Bit drivers for my laptop. I'll be posting my progress here for people being as stubborn as me (and for people to reply if they get anything else to work).
First of all, all is not as bad as it seems, I mean I'm writing this in my Vista 64-Bit so it is working. Few perhipals and utilities are lacking. But I'm a perfectionist.
This is my progess for now:
Working hardware:
-Intel 945PM chipset INF Update (version 8.1.1.1010)
Not sure if this is needed as didn't have to install it on XP but what the hey.

(no driver needed, supplied with Windows Vista)
-Intel PRO/Wireless 3945ABG wireless network adapter
(driver can be found here)
-Conexant HDAUDIO SoftV92 modem
(no driver needed, supplied with Windows Vista)
-Keyboard: volume/mute buttons
-NVIDIA GeForce Go 7400 graphics (ForceWare 97.59)
Haven't checked S-Video out yet, had problems before when using non-Sony drivers, VGA out is working.

Working, problem is that I can't turn Bluetooth on/off anymore (no option).
Perhaps it has something to do with the non-Sony Bluetooth driver?
