Thinking of setting up WIFI

I've got an FJ1S laptop. What do I need to buy to set everything up?

I just want to have it connected to the internet in any room of the house.

What you buy depends on the type of broadband you have, if you have a cable provider such as Blueyonder then you will need a wireless cable router something like this
If you have a BT telephone connection and one of the many ISP's then you would need an ADSL Wireless Modem Router something like this..

There are several different makes of routers these are just examples..:smileyhappy:

I've got a BT line and am with Tiscali, so looks like the second one is for me.

Is that all I need to buy then? Is it just as simple as plugging it in and then fiddling about in the network connections folder?

Is there any difference in the speed when you connect wirelessly?

Wireless Lan is currently slower than wired Lan. (54Mbit/s instead of 100Mbit/s, or 1000Mbit/s)
But it's more than fast enough for ADSL. (1-6Mbit/s)

I bought a Netgear one today. Had a bit of trouble setting it up at first but figured it out.
