This device cannot start. (Code 10) On my sony vaio VGN-N11H/W

can someone please tell me how to fix this i cant open cd or dvds at all

this is my cd/dvd drive : SONY DVD RE AW-Q540A ATA

Hi djdale,

welcome to Club vaio..

Go to Start > Run type devmgmt.msc and press OK, Device Manager window should open.

Double click dvd/cd-rom drives..

Right click on your drive and select uninstall

Restart your Vaio and allow the device to be re-installed again..
