touch pad tapping detection needs a delay

Hi,

I often find that while i move the mouse using the pad, i tend to lift my finger for a very short moment, and then touch the pad again to continue moving the mouse pointer. This behaviour is interpreted by the touch pad driver as a tap. So i often find myself unwillingly dragging stuff over the screen, messing up stuff.

How can i solve this? Is there a setting that allows me to configure the driver to wait for a certain time after the last mouse pointer movement ends, before creating the tap event?

Hi epost,

Welcome to Club Vaio,

You can adjust the tapping settings in the Mouse Properties, this can be found in Start > Control Panel > Printers and Other Hardware > Mouse..

A new window will open then click on the Tapping tab to adjust the settings...:smileyhappy:

Hi epost,

Welcome to Club Vaio,

He he, yes i'm a proud new owner of a vaio, love it 😉

....
About the tapping, yes, i tried that, but what i find is that it simply allows me to set something that isnt relevant: what i'm looking for is how to set a delay after mouse pointer moving BEFORE it starts accepting a tap. This would then prevent accidental tapping.
