Hi hannon565 and welcome to Club Vaio.

Have you tried installing the Pointing Device Driver from here?

http://support.vaio.sony.eu/computing/vaio/downloads/preinstalled/index.aspx?l=en_GB&m=VGN-FW31M

You may have to wait for a dedicated Windows 7 driver if this one does not work.

There is a FW Windows 7 64-bit Alps Pointing Device Driver on the FW56Z page here:

http://support.vaio.sony.eu/computing/vaio/downloads/preinstalled/index.aspx?l=en_GB&m=VGN-FW56Z

There is a FW Windows 7 32-bit Alps Pointing Device driver on the Z series page here: -

http://support.vaio.sony.eu/computing/vaio/downloads/preinstalled/index.aspx?l=en_GB&m=VGN-Z3

I can find a Windows 7 32/64-bit Synaptics Touchpad Driver for the AW series etc. here: -

http://support.vaio.sony.eu/computing/vaio/downloads/preinstalled/index.aspx?l=en_GB&m=VGN-AW41JF_H

.......... at your own risk of course!!!!!

And make sure you use the right driver (Alps or Synaptics)

Hello.
I have the same problem, but I can't know which driver I need: Alps or Synaptic. I tried looking at the Device Manager, but it recognises my touchpad as a PS/2 Mouse, so I dont know which type of driver it has. Which one should I install?

PD: I have a Sony Vaio VGN-FW4 (bought from Sony Style).
