Hi all,
I've got a PCG-TR5MP with 40Gb (20Gb on C and 20Gb on D)
Is there any way to get a bigger drive in there? I understood the 40Gb drive was as big as that machine could handle. Is this true? Is there even a 'non-supported' option I could investigate?
My C drive is stuffed and it's getting hard to defrag the thing now (I've not got the 15% space free).
Help appreciated...
The TR hard drive is a very small size - 1.8" (Ipod sized!). There are two manufacturers and what you have fitted now will dictate which replacement you buy as the ribbon cables are completely different.
I believe the max size available is 60Gb but that was when I last looked. This is a common upgrade to the TR series and Gb size is not a problem and requires no other tweaking, just goes straight in!
This place is dedicated to the TR Series and will be a great help to you:

As an alternative to an upgrade have you considered moving the my Documents folder to the D drive to free up space on the C drive – assuming that it is still on the C drive of course.
To do this, right click the My Documents folder and select properties, on the Target tab click Move, expand My Computer and click on the D drive and then OK.
