User Account Control Problem

For some reason I recently turned UAC OFF!!!
I can't for the life of me remember what possesed me to do this.

I now have a few problems running software where I need Admin privileges to run them so I've gone to turn on UAC again and change my account type from Standard user to Admin (It WAS Admin before I disabled UAC)

I can't seem to turn UAC back on, or change my account to Admin.

Any suggestions?

Hi dokmh

try this..

or change my account to Admin.

Click Start then click Control Panel..

In Control Panel click on User Accounts..

In User Accounts click on Change you account type and change the type of user from standard user or administrator..

I can't seem to turn UAC back on

Click Start then click Control Panel..

In Control Panel click on User Accounts..

In User Accounts click on Turn User Account Control On or Off..

In the Turn User Account Control On or Off window place a tick in the box next to 'Use user Account Control (UAC) to help protect your computer'

Then click OK and restart your Vaio..

Hi Thalamus,

I had originally tried doing both of those but NEITHER worked!

I got it sorted over the weekend though, I logged onto my girlfriend's account and for some reason it let me change the settings the way you described above.

Weird!
