VAIO A417S Wireless LAN faulty switch!

Hi,

My Vaio A417S has stopped responding to my wireless adapter switch on the front of the machine!

The green light still shows, but I am unable to connect to the internet, and the Wirless LAN Starter settings says 'The status of the wireless switch is unknown'. Somy laptop thinks the switch is off even though the light is on. The switch is not loose or stiff.

I'm presuming there is a hardware fault here? Has anyone had a similar experience?

Hi Christos,

Have you tried double-clicking one of on the taskbar and clicking on 'Enable 2.4 GHz Wireless LAN' in the Wireless Device Switch Window?

If the 2.4GHz WLAN is set OK then you will need a hardware repair.
