Two months ago I bought a Sony vaio B1XP and I am very pleased with it . However, there are two things that bother me and are related to the screen. The first is well known and concerns the backlight that is more bright at the bottom. The second (and more annoying) is that my screen from time to time suddenly blinks. There is no deterministic way to reproduce the problem. The blinking can occur while working with the laptop or when idle. That doesn't happend in a specific angle of the display , can happend in various angles. Two friends of mine that have the same laptop have noticed the problem also. Is this a general issue? Do you know a walkaround?
Thanks,
Petros
The same just happened on my K115B - for NO reason at all the screen just blinked once and then stopped whilst running on AC power...
Could be a faulty inverter but I don't want to part with my computer to get this repaired as yet... May speak to Sony directly about this, I'm annoyed its happening!!!:smileycry:
I'm sure a full System Recovery will NOT fix it...:smileywink:
same problem here !
should we contact sony for this ?
vaio B1XP
Yes you should contact VAIO-Link asap.
The problem is that sony service here in Greece is really bad. Actually, there is no service for vaio laptops and therefore the laptops should be shipped to the Netherlands I think in order to evaluate the problem and fix it and that could take 1-2 months. Given the fact that the problem is not that bad (I mean I can work without any problem) and that I am not sure if it is a hardware problem (I have the impression that the problem doesn't appear when I am playing a game) I hesitate to send my laptop for service.
ok psama i already contacted sony about this so lets wait and see what they have to say .
by the way i'm from Greece too !
Hail brother !
I had this problem, and I noticed it doesn't happen on games either. Odd isn't it? Yet I'm positive it is hardware related, and so were Sony when I had it fixed. I didn't even realise being brighter at the bottom was a fault, I thought all laptop screens were like that. I'll add it to my list.
And having had the flickering screen repaired, it's started doing it again today. I am so damn fed up with Sony.
And I thought it was just me! My B1XP does exactly the same - a completely random flicker to black for a fraction of a second.
I wonder if it's a bad batch of GPU's / screens?
If it didn't span so many peoples computers and so many different models I'd probably agree. I reckon it's something to do with X-Black screens.
Anyway, my 'What the hell is this I thought you fixed my computer' membership card arrived this morning. Doesn't allow you discounts.
