Vaio FJ-1S doesn't power up

Hello,
my Vaio FJ-1S doesn't power up anymore. When I pull out the battery and keep the wall plug in it might power up, but only for 30 seconds or so before it shuts down. With the battery and the wall plug it doesn't do anything, just flashes the power led for a second and then turns off again. My guess would be it's the battery. I brought it to a service center here in Munich, but they told me that the FJ models don't exist in germany, so they can't help me! I've opened an e-support case a week ago and nobody cared to answer me. What's the problem?

Could be the battery, but that doesn't explain why it turns off after 30secs.
