Vaio switches off

Hi everyone.

I am the proud owner of a Vaio VGN-FS315M. It works really well, sometimes for a few weeks, then suddenly switches itself off.

I have tried a replacement battery and power supply, replacement RAM and replacement hard drive to no avail.

Any ideas?

Cheers!

This could be a motherboard problem or the Vaio may be overheating due to dust in the cooling vents.

Download a program liake PC Wizard and this will tell you the temperatures of your CPU, Graphics Chip and HDD.  You can post the temperatures here.

If the CPU is getting over 80 degrees, then try cleaning out the air vents gently using compressed air.  Occasionaly you may have to disassemble the Vaio to clean it out.  If you need instructions on how to get inside, please ask here.

I think over the period you have used it,its just gathered up dust etc which is stopping it from breathing,Ive had this many a times, and whats cleared it has just been sticking the hoover hose on the vents lol,sha-bang and its back working!:smileycool:
