Vaio SZ3 update with Vista and mircophone doesn't work

Hi there,

I bought 2 month earlier my SZ3 built with XP.
I receive yesterday the Vista update !!!

But, because there is a but, the audio codec gived with the DVD drivers doesn't work... but the original Vista driver work so I have all the sounds.
The microphone is not in the driver windows (or I do not know where) and it doesn't work !!!

If anyone know how to fix this it would be great !!!

Ok, from what I understand is using the drivers on the Sony website disables your DVD sound
and from using the Windows drivers, your DVD works but then your MIC does not

What DVD software do you use? It might be that the DVD software is not compatible with your Vista installation.
I have a SZ4XWN/C and the drivers are from the Vaio website.
I can watch DVDs and my MIC works fine.

If you go to control panel>sounds>recording tab
you should see the microphone applet there. the bars should move up and down as there is noise

does this work?

Why not try to upgrade the driver to the Sony ones, and test the DVD from VLC Player?
