Without discs how can I download Vaio Zone and Help and Support software ?.

What Vaio Model do you have?

What OS are you running - I presume XP?

You should be able to reinstall Vaio Zone direcly from the Recovery Partition using the Vaio Recovery Utility.

Choose OPTIONS

Choose REINSTALL PROGRAMS THAT WERE PREVIOUSLY INSTALLED

Choose VAIO ZONE from the list.

What is the recovery partition - have searched on my laptop and have no such file.

Have a look in: -

Start -> Right-Click on My Computer -> Manage -> Disc Management

Your partitions will be shown in the right-hand window.  Is there a Recovery Partition shown?

it would be easier for us to identify if your Vaio does indeed have a hidden HDD partition if you clarified what model Vaio you have..:smileyconfused:

Yes it is shown but it does not open or have any options attached to it - now what ?

It is Windows XP SP3 version and is a Sony Vaio VGN-A517B model
