VGC-LN1M No boot device

Hi I have a VGC-LN1M / PCG-2E1M - occasionally when I turn it on it is unable to detect the hard drive as it says Operating System not found.

I have tried a different hard drive (with a clean OS install) and a different SATA cable and the same issue still occurs.

Does anyone know if there is a firmware/BIOS update that could address this issue?

I have updated my BIOS version from R0241T3 to R0242T3

The problem has not occurred since - though it was very random before so I will keep an eye on it.

Edit: This did not resolve the issue. I believe there is a fault with the hard drive controller.

Your steps are correct. I'm seeing the motherboard to have potential issues here. Search here for VGC-LN1M

Hopefully it does have a BIOS update. How old is this PC? https://imagicon.info/cat/12-13/vmware_happy.gif
