VGN-FE41Z / Vista / Stopping My Club Vaio from starting when windows starts.

Hi,

I have a really annoying problem that I cannot seem to stop. Sony's "My Club Vaio" software keeps loading when Windows starts up, and I find it really annoying. Does anyone know how this programme is called? I cannot find it anywhere in the startup menu / startup services / windows registry. It's almost like the programme is loading by magic!

If anyone could explain what these services are and if they are needed that would be helpful:
VESMgrSub.exe
ISBMgr.exe

ISBMgr.exe

VesMgr is Sony VAIO Event Service and is needed to for the FN keys etc to work..

And ISBMgr is the power management system I think.

Yes ISBMgr.exe is a file used by the power management utility.

Hi guys I had the same issue and this is what I have discovered:

Ahaha! I have found the little culprit!

I looked at the other post where this was an issue on Club Viii and in C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Sony the Register Your VAIO icon and the VAIO User Guides were in there, if you click on the Register Your Vaio it opens My Club Vaio up once, if you click on User Guides it opens it up twice!

I am at work now so when i next start up I will let you know which if deleting these shortcuts works!

thanks

Richard

I had two instances of the Club vaio software loading, and now I have deleted these from the start menu they do not appear!

I hope this helps you guys out!

Cheers

Richard

Hi (new here),

Just to mention, I have the same problem with my new VGN-FE41S (Vista pre-installed). When using Windows Defender, using the Software Explorer it shows only two processes from Sony:
ISB Utility ISBmgr.exe
Vaio Camera Utility VCUServe.exe
The camera utility doesn't seem logical to me, but I don't know what the ISB Utility is. Maybe this is also responsible for auto update? If anyone knows, please help.

Chris

Sorry should have read the whole thread first!!

Ladies and Gentlemen I have found the answer to stop the annoying "my clubvaio" go to the following C:\ProgramData\sony|MyClubVAIO\MyClubVAIO.exe. once there delete everything to do with ClubVAIO including the flash settings.
Good Luck.

Hi there.
Please can you help me. I am getting the same problem. I have a VGN-N21E/W notebook with Vista Premium.
Also when I try to launch My Club Vaio & Vaio User Guides I get the sme thing.

I'd most grateful for any help. Can send a screen shot too.

I have found a similar problem with my new C2Z/B it's running windows Vista, and whenever connected to the internet and I boot my machine it loads My Club Vaio. The My Club Vaio program hangs and has to be closed using Task Manager. I solved the problem by disconnecting from the internet and manually opening the My Club Vaio application going to Options and disabling the auto start.

Like you I have searched for the program in installed programs and searched the registry and windows services but cannot find a way of stopping the application altogether.

I will post back if I find a better solution!
