VGN FJ3S/W DVD-RAM UJ-805S Problem

Hi,

I had purchased this series 7 months ago but I hardly used its Optical driver. Today when I tried to use it I noticed it is not detecting any CD. When I checked in the BIOS it was also not there. I have Recovered my system but it is same. When I tried to update the firmware, then it started working. But after 1 week, I am facing same problem.

Please advise me the steps to trouble shoot or indentify the problem. If this is due to firmware, please advise me how to rollback to original firmware ?

If the drive isn't being detected in the bios then I would guess that you have a hardware problem. Since you've only had the notebook for seven months you should still be under warranty and should contact Vaio-Link for a warranty repair.
