Would someone please give me an explanation as to why my Sony Vaio VGN-NR31J has developed an issue with the graphics card? The laptop turns on but the screen doesn't come on with it. I've tried it in numerous other monitors and nothing shows on them either.
After looking round on the internet it seems my laptop has been hit by the NVIDIA Graphics card inherent defect, in which the chip melts itself thanks to the design of the laptop, making it overheat.
In the past month I've had 3 phonecalls from Sony telling me that my laptop isn't one of the effected models even though it's quite clear that it is. I was told that Sony wouldn't be able to offer me a free inspection or repair, which I think is ridiculous, as the defect is a cause of poor workmanship.
