hi gy-uys. newbie here.
I bought a vaio laptop about 2 years ago.
about 6 months ago the screen went bonkers and now its all distorted and fuzzy.
im thinking the graphics card has failed.
Ive been researching the net and this appears to be a common fault??
and ive read of people having theres repaired outside of warranty?
i have also tried registering the laptop this evening but the model number isnt even in the list.
Any help wopuld be appreciated.

Hi grefothe,
It does sound as though the graphics chip or soldering thereof is faulty. Unfortunately the VGN-NR32S is not acknowledged by Sony as being affected by the NVIDIA graphics chip problem. Here is a list of models that will be repaired free of charge within four years of purchase:
VGN-FZ11x, VGN-FZ18x, VGN-FZ21x, VGN-FZ31x, VGN-FZ38x,
VGN-AR11x, VGN-AR21x, VGN-AR31x,
VGN-C1Zx, VGN-C2Zx,
VGC-LM1xx, VGC-LM2xx,
VGC-LT1xx, VGC-LT2xx.
I suggest you speak to one of Sony’s repair partners to find the way forward. Possibly a reflow of the chip may resolve the problem.
