Hi,
I have a VGN-NR38E laptop.
Some months ago the wireless stopped working. The switch works and the light comes on/off but the wireless window (Vaio Smart Network) pops up and shows the WLAN/LAN/Modem. The light for the WLAN never comes on.
I have tried updating the drivers and the Wireless Switch Setting Utility and nothing seems to have worked.
I think the wireless adapter has broken and needs replacing.
How easy are they to replace and iof so what replacement to use?
Thanks, Rob.
Can anybody help me?
Thanks
It sounds like you are right - you nay need a repair.
If you are in the UK then talk to one of Sony's Service Partners - full list here: -

Alternatively, have a look at a wireless card that will fit in your ExpressCard_34 slot. Something like this: -
