Hi all. I've had my latptop a couple of months now and I have noticed two dark spots develop in the middle of the screen.
One is a cigar shape about 1cm long and the other is circular about the size of a 1p coin. There are no dead pixels, they just appear as dark shadows over the screen. Depending on the back ground they appear darker/lighter. They are definitely below the surface as I have tried cleaning them dozens of times.
Anyone have a similar problem and/or know of a fix?
Cheers,
Jeremy
Hi Jerm.
Welcome to the Forum:smileygrin:
I don't think there's a quick fix because it sounds like a hardware problem.
I would suggest contacting Sony (phone numbers on this link ) and see what they've got to say.
I agree with Twisted Rizla, not a thing you can fix easily.
You'll have to get in touch with Sony in New Zealand as VAIO Link only supports European computers
Thanks for the replies, looks like I will have to put it in Sony's hands. It's a bummer as I bought it in London last year with a three year warranty and now I am in Hong Kong...might be a costly exercise.
Thanks again!

You're best using DHL or equivelant, as the post office will rip you off and probably loose it.
The old version from Everest Home(Lavasoft)...........
.............I meanAIDA32 has different test patterns for your Monitor or TFT.
Like Bright Red,Bright Blue, Bright Green......Black, etc.
this is a good test in order to discover pixel errors and other bad things.
