VGN-SZ1XP/C Bios Update...

I own a VGN-SZ1XP/C and the Vaio Update center is currently suggesting to update the Bios 11.1Mb. I am asking if this is a simple update or it can end up stucking my laptop? Do i need to have special knowledge to do this or is it completely automated?

Hi patonios,

No you do not need any special knowledge to update your Bios, just make sure you have your Vaio plugged in and are running on AC power and not battery.

Just follow the instructions Sony have for updating your BIOS, however if you are unsure or concerned and your Vaio is currently running OK, then you do not have to install the BIOS update.

If it's not broke don't fix it..

I updated the bios without problems till now. i am just afraid when i hear the word "bios". Thanks again.

PLease rest assured : When Sony is releasing an update publically, this means they have tested this before launching it. There is no beta suff on there downloadpages...

If you've installed a bios update before it should be a quite similar process.
