Hi All,
Can anyone help me? I have a Sony Vaio XL201 media cnetre, and when I go to burn a DVD of some TV film I have recorded the Vido DVD option is not showing, just a data DVD option. I have looked on Microsoft and they say this is a hardware issues. Anyone have a solution?
Thanks
Richard
Hi Richard and welcome to Club Vaio.
A Google suggests that you need the Sonic Encoders installed to make the burn to DVD option available. Try a search for sonicencoders.msi.
Thanks - I have downloaded these and will try to see if they make the difference. You would have thought Sony had these already!
At this adress http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/mediacenter/using/DVD/burntvtodvd.mspx you will find a tip about burning to video DVD, " If the Video DVD option is not displayed on the Disc Format page, the DVD burning software is not installed or is not working correctly. Contact your hardware manufacturer for assistance." I,m still waiting for an answer from Sony Support..
The burn to DVD option you describe is made available to OEMs like Sony as an option to include or exclude from the distibution as they choose. With the XL201 Sony expect you to use the Click to DVD app from Other Programs to perform the Video DVD buring function.
