Vista Issues

I have spent ages getting Vista to run more or less satisfactorily after several clean installs on my VGN-AR11M

I have downloaded and installed everything suggested on the Sony support site for Vista.

BUT

I cannot get the internal camera to work or the memory card reader despite the fixes.

Please please can someone give me some guidance.

Many thanks

Welcome to the forum,
beleive me I know what you mean. After the trauma the hard disk is probaly really fragmented. Try a few defragmentations and go into the device manager and see if the camera drivers are showing up as requiring reinstall.

Hi Tony

Thanks for your time and the reply.
I have tried as you suggest, without success. Neither the camera nor the card reader are showing in the device manager. Although I do have an unknown device that will not download any drivers. Also a Mass Storage devices and a couple of Bluetooth Peripherals none of which will download drivers.
Incidentally Bluetooth is working despite the fact I uninstalled the Sony fix cos it didn't work. The Vista bluetooth programme works perfectly well with both my Nokia phone and HP 460wbt printer.
I did speak with a Sony expert??? about a different issue who was as good as useless saying Sony do not support Vista upgrades. Very strange I thought but he appeared to be an arrogant t..t. and really didn't seem to know what he was talking about.
Any other bright ideas??
Cheers
Ray
