I'm wondering the same thing, just reading through the upgrade user guide and it says that you won't be able to output blu-rays at 1080p anymore which seems a bit stange.
Not sure whether to upgrade or not now.

Yeh it does seem strange that mind you as long as they still play fine on laptop and at 720p dont mind as dont have a TV with 1080p support.

Im deffinatly in two minds wether to upgrade or not would like to hear from other peoples experiences.

We've got two Vista laptops at work and the one with 1GB of RAM is slow, the one with 2GB performs the same-ish as XP does on a machine with 1GB of RAM. So my advice is not to bother unless you have 2GB of RAM! The AERO graphics are another matter too. If you have no onboard graphics memory, ie if your graphics card has hypermemory or turbocache (ie it borrows memory from the main RAM) it's going to eat into your RAM. 2GB is the way to go in my opinion.

hey all.I have an ar21s too and am awaiting my vista discs.Im glad i know now that it wont output to full 1080p and also dissapointed as to why this is.Lets hope updates come out to resolve this.
I think it may be better to install vista on a seperate partition(dualboot) and if i want to watch movies in true 1080p glory then all i need to do is load xp.

Been trying to find out why I can't display full 1080p,now I know! Scant consolation when you've spent the better part of £1800 on a 'Sony Full HD 1080p Windows Vista Blu Ray laptop',another £1800 on a dogs janglies x series FULL 1080p LCD and countless hours on forums trying to work out how to get movies to play on the LCD. (e-support were little help). Next time I walk into a Sony Centre and I'm bombarded by "Blu Ray bla bla bla, full 1080p bla bla, windows Vista bla bla," they might get a pretty unpleasant response! There's only so much research you can do before purchasing these mainstream consumer products and I never saw all this hasstle coming! Sony / Microsoft etc etc must be verging on the wrong side of trading standards. Oh well summer's coming and I can spend my time outside rather than trying to watch rubbish blu-ray movies like 'Into the Blue' and 'Ultraviolet'.

I've done a clean install of vista ultimate and it runs pretty well tbh.

The main thing that is annoying me is that I can't get the camera to work and I use it a lot to skype with friends and relatives abroad

I have the AR-21M btw

If anyone knows of a camera fix please let me know
