volume on Sony Media centre

Since I uploaded vista bi have no sound. All the volume controls on the PC are up to full, but I still have no sound at all. Any advice???

What model Vaio do you have?

Do you get the Vista Start-up sounds when you boot?

I get nothing, zip, nada, nought, zero.

I had it all on XP, now i get nothing Ive run all the tests, checked all the drives, uploaded all the software updates from Sony and Microsoft, still nothing.

Blencogo - I posted a thread a few months ago, ref my video capture doesn't work [XL 101] - I've since tried to install my Vista upgrade [Sony support told me it wouldn't hurt...]. i have since gone back to XP [Vista was worse!] using my recovery disk... I now have No Sound, or Video Capture!!!

My Hardwear wizard finds an uninstalled PCI Card - but can't find any drivers [net or disk]... Do you have any ideas??

sorry if this sounds like I've hijacked this thread - its just a sound/driver/install problem - which may be conected...
