when attempting to do so it does that ominous "buh-buh", then there is a faint clicking noise, which i guess is the laser head - dvd's play fine
My question is: is the bd laser head dead?
Before this i did notice that some bd's did not play, one evene triggered a message saying something along the lines of "win dvd has stopped working", with another igot to the title menu but could not play the film.
Thanks in advance

Hi Paul and welcome.
Are you using the latest version of WinDVD BD?
You don't tell us your Vaio model or the Operating System being used so I can't see if there are any software or hardware updates.
It may be worth downloading the free 30 day trial of another Blu-Ray player like PowerDVD or a completely free Blu-Ray player like DAPlayer to see if it is the software causing the problem. This should tell you if the BD part of the drive has failed.
thanks for the reply, Blencogo, I did mention the model - vpcec1s1e - with windows 7 and it is corel win dvd 2010
Will try the other softwares option
Best wishes for 2013 to you and your family
Kind regards
Paul
