Hi
Inherited this notebook internally and want to know more about it? Its a PCG 8N2M. I wondered if it has built in WiFi networking. Is there a data sheet on this model.
Help.
Thanks
15 digits, but the field only accepts 8 characters
Thanks, but yes I did understand that. There is only one field for the serial no, so it still isn't working as it should.:smileysad:
Where we are here?
Is that the registration to download new Drivers. Or is that the registration for the e-support?
The VAIO-Link ever same. For all europen people there is no different. You can only change the language. The site for the e-support is in english. For me too.
So, I don' know which site do you use. But here is the correct link.
http://www.vaio-link.com/index/index.asp?l=en
If you want check for new drivers, then you must click "Drivers and Updates" There you must type in your Model and Seriel number.
I you register your laptop, then you must click e-support.
Then click register and type in your data.
If you are ready, then you can register your VAIO. Click the button "register a product"
Product type = laptop
Product = the name of your VAIO (for example PCG-FR315S)
purchase date = star time 584392049
Thanks....thats the link I've had and it is now registered, but its not on a list of Vaio's that I've seen. Hence this question about the specification of this machine. So if this is the Official Site and Sony Staff are looking in, perhaps they can point me in the right direction as to a full spec, and whether it has built in Wireless. Also would be good to know why the model name is elusive.
I think that you will find that PCG-8P1M is the Model lable and that the model is PCG-GRT916Z. Confusing I know but basically only Sony use the Model Label.
Link to the manuals.
You can also find out which model you have, if you click drivers and update. If you type in the model and the seriel number, then it opens the site for your VAIO.
Forget that it is the wrong label number. But I am sure that PCG 8N2M is a label not model number.
Mmmh, normally you can find it below the display, of left site of you VAIO( if you open the VAIO and look at the display)
If you go to Vaio Link and select Drivers and Updates you should be prompted for your serial number. This will identify the model and take you to the correct page.
