What kind of updates should i download for my new VGX 302?

Hello Dears,

six weeks ago I started my new VGX 302 first time.
The system told me, that I should take updates from Vaio support center.
I did it. All was ok.
My VGX 302 works well. (only sometimes some small mistakes by system, but nothing is critical)
Today I looked in Vaio support center for VGX 302 and I have seen a lot of new updates for download.
Some of the updates are very old (jan 2007)
How is it able to know, what on the list is importend to download and install?
How can I know what of this I have or is already installed?

Best Regards
Lothar

(Sorry about my english)

if you go on vaio- update then download them ALL as the ones that you have downloaded will be put in a history part of the update there for it will not ask you to download them again

Hi Lothar,

welcome to Club Vaio..

As long as you haven't deleted the previous updates that you downloaded and installed, if you go to All programs > Vaio Update and click Go to Vaio Web support this should list the updates which have not already been installed on your XL302..

Hi Thalamus,

thank you for answer,
I did what you told,
in the list there are two updates.
one of them (intervideo DVD...) is marked with a flag.
I started the update and the system told me that
an automatic update is not possible. I should try to install manualy.
ok, I tried.
But when I start the program from my folder with updates
the InstallShield Wizard starts and told me:
"This upgrade patch can't apply to your version of WINDVD, Setup will now abort..."

Now,I tried to update WINDVD, but when I start the program there is now service to update this.
May I go to Intervideo-Support to download an update.
I have not seen a special version for Vaio VGX on Intervideo-Support-Side?!

Best Regards
Lothar

Hi Thalamus,
Hi Rbuckley,

thanks for all,

I belive the problem is solved or fixed by Sony:
Vaio e-support wrote me: "sorry, there is a mistake by Sony, because it is important to have upgrades before upgrade this Version. The "versions before" are not ready till now, but may be in December 2007"
So I wait and hope, may be it will be a christmas gift. ;-))

By the way, I can't check the version from WIN-DVD, I tried but it is nothing to see in the program. Its only called "WinDVD-BD for Vaio" !?
I thank you very much for answering!
Have a nice Christmas and a Good Year 2008

Very Best Regards
Lothar

Start Win DVD BD then click on either the Audio center button or Video Center button (you'll find these next to the eject button) once the Audio or Video center window opens click on the cog icon (top right) and then select the information tab, you should now be able to see what version of Win DVD BD you have installed..

Thalamus,
I am very embarrassed, it was so easy to locate!
(People who can read are in advantage)
My Version is: 8.0 DXVA B08.416
But I think, I should wait till Sony starts the "update before the update"?!
Best Regards
Lothar

There no need to feel embarrassed, it's only easy to find if you know where to look..
