well answers please? and why?
For me no because i do not trust their quality checks, i think they try and rush out the latest fashion craze and then get on with designing the next.
Their driver downloads/documentation are dismal to say the least
Wow this is a massive post.
After reading this for an hour there seem to be many things wrong with Sony and their Service and Support.
To answer the question of the post: I really don't know.
They hardly have any updated for their drivers and firmware,
Their customersupport is horrible,
They are overpriced,
I don't mind paying a price but their quality isn't up to the price they ask for their hardware here.
Replacement parts and accessories are way overpriced.
But hey they look good, that's why I bought them for untill now, for their looks. But...
I think my next one will be an Apple Powerbook, they look good and seem to be more stable.
Though this has been going on for > 1 year.
So come on Sony, do something....
Do you really want to loose so many customers?
I guess they don't give a s&&t
Definitely they dont give a s%&t
If you asked me one year before i would say yes i would definitely buy a new vaio. If you ask me now i would say not in a zillion years because of the driver updates
So who will you buy next?
I have been looking at Samsung (Rob speaks highly of his) and the IBM.
I'm also thinking of learning how to use a Mac so I can boast in my CV of knowing how to use MacOSX etc
I definately wont be buying a vaio again, not untill i start reading posts saying how good their support has suddenly become. If they just sorted that out then im sure the majority of the other problems will follow (because they will actually be getting fixed). I keep finding myself on apple's site looking at the powerbooks, reading their helpful information about the way they are designed and various other things such as their policy on battery replacement and thinking "should have gone for that"...
Well I checked toshiba's site they made two driver updates for igp 345m in the time where sony did none. But i dont think i like toshiba as well. Their design is very crappy but they do their job well in customer support at least
I remember when I had a Toshiba on loan from school and the LCD leaked.... cost the school £500!
The next person to borrow it had the hard disk die on them.....
Yes those things happen sometimes. They dont choose brand though
yes i would... because.. this is my second sony laptop and i think sony is cool....
