Wireless Enabling

Hi,
My Sony Vaio has built in wireless. I have an Orange Livebox (router) setup and ready to go.
The Wireless Lan switch at the front of my Vaio is turned on. Nowhere within my Vaio can I find an option to search for available networks? Do I need to first enable my laptop to activate wireless functions? The help menu keeps mentioning a USB key to download settings but this didn't come with the laptop and or the Livebox.

Go to Start > Network Connections and click on see all. Make sure it's enabled then right click on the wireless connection and click on find wireless networks
