wireless problems

help for a newbie please. I have a VGN-NR21Z on Vista and am generally very happy with it. I now have a problem with the connectivity. The green wireless light comes on for a short time only and diagnosis states 'wireless capability turned off'. I have tried all the things I can think of but must be missing something obvious. Have done system restore to few weeks ago but no change.
Any help appreciated.

Have you checked that wireless LAN is enabled in the Vaio Smart Network utility.?

Have you installed the VAIO Smart Network Update 2.0 - 2.0.1.11050,if not use the following link to download the: VAIO Smart Network Update
