XL201 WLan problem.

Hi, I am having issues connecting my XL201 to a wireless network.
I have the antenna connected, and am able to view my wireless network with 4/5.
Also I am even able to connect, however I do not receive any packets at all.
Under status I see packets being sent but recieved is fixed at 0.
Also although I have the correct IP values I am unable to ping anything.
This is the first time that I have tried to connect with the XL201 and WLan, previously I have been using a LAN connection.

I assume you have run the Wireless Network Wizard and set up a wireless network?

Sounds like either your Firewall or your Wireless Security is blocking the signal.

Has your router got WEP enabled? This sounds like an incorrect WEP Key or some other encryption problem.

Does the router have a Wireless Access list to which you need to add your XL201's MAC Address?

Blencogo thanks for the reply.
I have checked this, actually I have my laptop connecting with no problems to the router, with the same settings.
I have checked some more and found that from the router I can see the MAC address for the VAIO in the list of connected devices, but when attempt a ping from the router to the VAIO it fails.
I have also checked that the firewall is disabled for Wireless connection.
It would appear as if I am missing something fundamental, but easy.

Cheers

On the XL201

Start -> Run -> CMD to show the Command window.

Type IPCONFIG ALL and press Enter

What is shown on the screen?

You did not say if you have WEP security enabled on your router? Have you entered a WEP Key on the XL201?

Hi,
I have 64-Bit WEP encryption configured, but I have the correct key as I can see that the connection is Connected within status.
N.B. See attached RTF file.

On one machine I had to make a manual config for it to work smoother in Windows.
