Just wondering if anyone else has encountered this problem. My Z1XSP has just developed a dodgy pixel in the middle towards the bottom of the screen. Basically there's a single pixel that has gone red/black or something and refuses to change colour. Now that I know it's there it's really beginning to bug me.
Anyone else find mutant pixels on their screens? After my months of problems with the DVD-RW this is the last thing I need. If my Vaio wasn't so damn sexy I would've given up on it by now!
One burst pixel should not be too noticable. I got one on my GRZ615M the week i got it. Sony, according to Kee-Lo, only take action if 4 are burst (He thinks). (Kee-Lo, this was when i put up my pixel burst post. It could still be out there somewhere!!)
So, if only one is burst then you cant do much about it! Sorry Tyler!:smileysad:
LOL Harry, thats a hazy subject. Putting an e-support case into Sony will give you the official information.
Ahhhhh! Sorry Guys!!!!
No problem.
I have a Vaio A115S and the day I bought it I noticed a dead pixel in the centre of the screen (very annoying when watching a DVD movie) so I took it back the next day to the store and had it swapped over no problems.
I understand your dilemma, they are very annoying but you will notice in the instructions of your Vaio that one or two are an 'expected outcome of the manufacturing process'. A friend of mine had told me a technique of massaging them out with pressure if they are indeed 'stuck' and not 'dead', try a google search for the technique.
Adam
Tyler, if you find a solution, as adam described, then please post it here. It will be very useful!
bought mine yesterday and have the same. it is only 1 pixel though. the shopowner told me that you need at least 3 dead pixels before they will replace your sony.
this is the only negative thing about my z1xsp. i love this machine!!!!!
hi folks,
i have a "miss-lead" pixel as well... dead center at the bottom of the screen (GRT816M).
but remember you have the right to fully functional maschine... so if there is even one pixel dead or dent the day you bought it, turn around and take the thing right back and insist on replacement... if any pixels occur days or weeks later then you have to live with it.
greetings to all
Joe
I have to agree with Joe, if you opened it the day of purchase and the dead pixel was there - I would bring it back to the store.
