dsx a510bd fault

I’ve been an electrician for 30+ years and think I have a good grasp of electrical faults

The problem I have is when using the car and the radio was turned off, when I turned off the car the electric Arial would go up then down.

The Arial is getting a 12v signal from the radio even when the radio is off ,most annoying

I've sent the radio to Sony for repair and they sent it back said it wasn't faulty it was a installation issue and suggested that I went to Halfords but its clearly faulty!!

over the years I've always bought Sony products and found them to be outstanding quality and service, but no that's in the past Sony just say its ok and its your fault for buying it.

@alastairchad, I cannot think of anything else other than some installation issue, maybe you should try getting someone to install it for you.

Hello Alastair,

We have a solution for this

with the ignition on witch the radio to standby, press the volume ***** and go to “General" and turn off "set caut alarm" to off

amazed that Sony service Center didn’t know this setting it’s not related to the power Arial settings at all but it did the trick a big thank you to

(caut alarm) Caution alarm
If you turn the ignition switch to the OFF position without detaching the front panel, the caution alarm will sound for a few seconds. The alarm will only sound if the built-in amplifier is used.

@alastairchad, thank you for updating the thread. Could you mark it as solved please?
