h.ear MDR-100ABN - how to mute microphone on Windows 10?

Hello.  I'm hoping some kind soul can help here with what I thought would be an obvious feature.

I'm trying to use my headphones/headset on Windows 10 over Bluetooth, more specifically as a gaming headset for PC Games.  I used to use Sony PS4 Wireless Gold headset which had a physical mute button on the headset itself, but the MDR-100ABN doesn't - it seems you have to control that through whichever device or app you connect them to.  The MDRs do connect properly to the PC over Bluetooth, I can hear audio and the sound properties in Win 10 does indicate the mic is working properly.

But I can't see a way to mute the mic.

So if I want to use these as a headset to talk to other people in online gaming, I need to be able to easily mute my microphone for those times I'm sneezing, yawning (lol) or talking on a phone etc.

Does anyone have any idea how I do this, please?

Hi @CompletesRush, welcome to the Community.

I've not come across this problem personally, and I wonder if it may be something more specific to Windows than your Sony headset? Might explain why no-one has responded here!

Maybe try a W10 forum, and let us know how you get on? Be interesting to see if there is a solution.

Best wishes

Mick

that's because you can't.

to mute it on PS4...the only way is to use the short cut menu to mute it. but you can't do it via the headphone
