Headset MDR-100ABN

My bloetooth noise cancelation headset stopped charging the battery, just two weeks after the warranty expired.

The technician at the service center replied that the part is no longer available and chnging the motherboard is required. A motehrboard for a pair of headphones? It is very frustrating to pay for an expensive repair or to  throw away 2 year old headset , which otherwise worked quite nicely. I am very disappointed with this Sony product.
