Is the warranty of Walkman global?

I'm going to order nwz-a15 from the amazon store. I currently live in Spain for now, but after that I'm going back to live Thailand. I'm not sure whether the warranty is going to be valid when I'm in Thailand.

From my understanding the warranty is valid only in the country of purchase. However, contact Sony to check this.
